Mobile Food Vendor Registration
All mobile food vendors who plan to operate within the Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department jurisdictions of Charter Township of Garfield, East Bay Charter Township, and Acme Township must complete the following steps each calendar year prior to operating each year.
Complete the Food Truck registration on the IROL website. Look for the green "Register Food Truck" button on the right-hand side.

All staff shall complete the Mobile Food Vehicle safety course. You must provide documentation of successful completion at the time of inspection.
Download and review the Mobile Food Vendor inspection form. Perform a self-inspection of your truck/trailer. This is the form and codes used by Inspectors to ensure compliance with safety rules.
Once all of these items have been completed and you have performed a self-inspection using the safety inspection form, call to schedule your official inspection.
Once your inspection is complete and the Mobile Food Vehicle is in compliance, contact the Grand Traverse County Environmental Health Dept. to schedule your health department food safety inspection.
Contact the township where the Mobile Food Vehicle will be located for final licensing and permit approvals.
